Three Houston Dynamo players have been called in by the Honduras National Team ahead of next week’s round of FIFA World Cup Qualifying matches, the National Autonomous Federation of Football of Honduras (FENAFUTH) announced Monday.

Forwards Alberth Elis and Romell Quioto, as well as midfielder Boniek García, are anticipated to join Los Catrachos following Houston’s game at Seattle to face Sounders FC on Sunday night. Houston travels to Seattle the Sounders at 9:00 p.m. CST. That game will be televised live on KUBE TV Ch. 57, with the pregame show starting at 8:30 p.m.

Honduras will face Mexico on Thursday, June 8 at Estadio Azteca in Mexico City, and will visit Panama on Tuesday, June 13 at Estadio Rommel Fernández in Panama City. Los Catrachos are looking to qualify for their third consecutive World Cup, a feat which has never been accomplished in Honduran soccer history.

García ranks fourth in Honduran National Team history with 119 career caps and has three goals for the national team. Quioto has appeared in 28 matches for his country and has four goals, three of which have come in 2018 World Cup Qualifying play. At age 21, Elis has already represented his country 17 times and has scored three goals, the last of which came in a 2-2 World Cup Qualifying draw with arch-rivals El Salvador on March 25, 2016.

In their first season with the Dynamo, Elis and Quioto have already been nominated for the 2017 MLS All-Star Game, which will be played on Wednesday, August 2 at Chicago’s Soldier Field at 8:00 p.m. CDT vs. Real Madrid. Elis is second on the Dynamo scoring with five goals and one assist, while Quioto is third with four goals and two assists. García is tied for second on the club’s all-time assists chart with 30.
