The Houston Dynamo have acquired General and Targeted Allocation Money from Seattle Sounders FC in a trade for F Will Bruin, the club announced today.

Bruin, 27, played in 178 Major League Soccer contests since joining the Dynamo as a first-round pick in the MLS SuperDraft in 2011, starting 152, and scored 50 goals in league play for the club. In 2016, Bruin played in 31 games with 18 starts where he scored four goals and tallied three assists.

“We’d like to sincerely thank Will for all of his contributions to the Dynamo over the last six years,” said Dynamo Vice President and General Manager Matt Jordan. “He is not only a good player, but has been an outstanding representative of the club in our community, and we wish him well in this next step in his career.”

Bruin scored a franchise-record 16 goals in all competitions in 2012 and holds the club record for most postseason goals with four in 2012. The St. Louis native scored more than 10 goals in three of his six years in Houston, a club record.

At the international level, Bruin has earned two caps with the U.S. Men’s National Team and made his debut on Jan. 29, 2013 as a substitute against Canada at BBVA Compass Stadium.
