Popular Mexican soccer teams Club América and Tigres UANL will face off on Saturday, March 26 at BBVA Compass Stadium in Houston, PRIMETIME Sports and BBVA Compass Stadium officially announced today.  The international friendly marks the third match produced under COPA NISSAN, a series of matches bringing fans the excitement from top Liga MX soccer clubs to the United States.


The match is scheduled to take place at 3 p.m. CDT.  A Soccer Festival including live music, appearances from popular Mexican players, traditional foods, and interactive sponsor activations will start off the celebration at 12:00 p.m.


Club América is the Mexican Club with the most championships, including its most recent 2015 CONCACAF Champions League title. Tigres UANL, under the direction of Ricardo “Tuca” Ferretti, have established themselves as the newest powerhouse, making it to the Final of the last Copa Libertadores and crowning themselves as the current Liga MX Champion.


Club América last played at BBVA Compass Stadium in 2015, with a 5-2 win over Monterrey. Tigres UANL returns to Houston after a battle with Cruzeiro in 2014.


Public on-sale is scheduled to start on Monday, February 22 at 9:00 am CST.
