Texas Southern earned not only a 3-0 (25-20, 25-17, 25-17) victory over Grambling State on Saturday at Memorial Gym, but also claimed their third-straight SWAC Western Division title. Texas Southern completes the regular season with a 13-17 record and 7-1 in league play. Grambling State moves to 10-24 on the year and 0-7 in conference action.

Kali Fluke paced the Texas Southern offense with 12 kills, four block assists, one dig, one assist and one service ace. Robyn Shannon chipped in eight kills, 12 digs and two aces as Audriana Carson tallied eight putaways, three blocks, three digs, two aces and an assist. Asia Howard dished out 15 assists, two digs, two aces and a block as Chelsea Thompson had 16 helpers, seven digs, and two kills. Allison Woods collected nine digs, one ace and one assist in the victory. Texas Southern posted a .313 (38 kills, 12 digs, 83 attempts) hitting percentage.

Grambling State was led by Maya Lucas’ eight kills and one dig while Kiara Finley posed 10 assists, five kills and four digs. Diemend Richardson dished out six assists and seven digs as Desiree Bishop had three kills, two digs and two blocks. Alleeyah Hensley collected five digs and an assist and Teryn Phillips had six digs and two service aces. Grambling State was held to a .011 (25 kills, 24 errors, 92 attempts) hitting percentage.

Grambling State wraps up the season with a November 16 match against Arkansas-Pine Bluff for a 7:00 p.m. contest.
