Doubles by Lionel Messi, Ezequiel Lavezzi, and Sergio Aguero fueled Argentina to a 7-0 blowout win against Bolivia in an international friendly. A sellout crowd at BBVA Compass Stadium saw the 2014 World Cup runners up put on a dazzling display against a very much overmatched Bolivia side. This trip marked Argentina’s first trip to Houston

Lavezzi, the Paris St-Germain striker, opened the scoring in the 6th minute off of a Kun Aguero assist. Aguero himself would slot in his first goal of the match in the 33rd minute. Aguero and Lavezzi would link up again in the 41st minute with Lavezzi scoring again, making the match 3-0 at halftime.

Aguero would get his second goal of the night in the 57th minute, playing the full match. Messi would come on in the 62nd minute for Nicolas Gaitan to a thunderous applause & thousands of camera phones taking his picture. He would then score 2 minutes later for his first goal of the night, off of another Aguero assist. Just 6 minutes later, Messi would score another goal. Aguero, the Manchester City star, would tally 2 goals & 3 assists on the night.

Angel Correra, making his debut, would score in the 84th minute to close out the scoring. Carlos Tevez, garnering the second loudest ovation of the evening, would sub on in the 80th minute.

Argentina travels to Dallas next to play Mexico on September 8th.
